Very solid list. The Mingus is colossal.

Kinda want to vote for Thinking Fellers just because it sticks out so much from everything else here, to me anyway. I saw them at CBGB a few years before that, touring in support of or possibly even before Lovelyville — my friend Ken went backstage after their set and bought an LP of Tangle.

I see a lot that I love on here. Some choices which were in my list too, some similar bands. Seeing your list makes me very interested in your Rish pick, as I only got into them last year and that's an album I don't have yet. I think I'll give some credit to my favourite choice from what I know out of artists that I didn't feature on my own list, which is Led Zeppelin.

Oh wait I did have physical graffiti on my list. I'll go for my favourite album which is not on my own list instead: Aqualung.

there are about five rush albums i love every song on. the highlights on hemispheres push it over the top for me. the last song especially

is something else. the other two songs on side two are gems, too, if you can overlook the vaguely ayn rand-ian lyrics. side 1 is one long song -- no shade on "2112" but for me it's much more re-listenable, more of a piece, with great riffs and a sort of peak of spacey fantastical themes

Bamboozled by the thread title
But very few records have meant as much to me as the madcap laughs once did so I’ll bite

Must be the first poll where Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 beats canonical picks from Bowie, Prince, Cure etc

Dan Worsley, Wednesday, 6 November 2024 07:26 (one year ago)
