the metal picks are surprising in here, they're an interesting subgroup. locally I'm required to be excited that c.o.c. is here. but I voted Yabby, that stuff's eternal

I did consider just a metal list but saw sense in the end. *Blind* is mega. Can't argue with Vivian Jackson of course.

*Dropped* - the MindFunk album - is the one I feel most protective and evangelical about. I don't really know anyone else who was or is into it. The whole mythology of them going out into the woods for six weeks with Terry Date and taking industrial amounts of acid. Jason Everman. Reed St. Mark. It's colossal. I keep thinking I should send a pitch to 33 1/3.

Voted for the Tuma - great record, & I put it up there with his Souled American work.

Can't argue with Corrupted. That record is like watching tectonic plates twist and uplift.

I only know five of these (Tindersticks, Eno, Crosby, Dylan, Doors) but I like those five a lot. Ambient 4 is especially amazing - while there may be many more treasures to be found among the 45 unknown to me, I'll give it a vote anyway.

Anthems in Eden and Nixon both perfect for the transition into autumn IMO.

Favourite: Mark Lanegan, which I only heard after his death, and couldn't stop listening to, though I never thought Screaming Trees were that great

Least-favourite: The Doors, I think Strange Days is superior in every way

Nicest surprise: Zawinul

Unheard, but most want to hear: Cluster, Al Green, Anthems in Eden

The first Doors album is pretty much perfect to me. Strange Days is a close second, mind.
