i search and i check out links and youtubes on here. i DO the work. i promise.

but i was thinking people here might have heard something new that they love a lot.

the only thing recently - yesterday - that i've heard and liked is the new pj harvey. i love it. so sad and autumnal like me.

but you know me. unless you don't. i like everything. sorta.

feeling like a fuddy duddy. how many ancient 400 song tech-house playlists and forgotten 80s aor records can a guy listen to? i'll tell you. A LOT.

also i hooked up some decent little speakers in my back work room at the shop and i have a new desktop for work. #taxdeductible

sounds pretty good.

I just realized I should have responded with the two new albums on my label! I am bad at marketing. Here they are, one track from each anyway:

scott seward, Friday, 20 October 2023 18:32 (two years ago)

I do like the idea of an electronic musician in search of his celtic heritage becoming possessed by singeli

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 03:05 (two years ago)

Another unperson release---from last year, but not overexposed---dig:

"Bypassing the structure of compositions, the trio ebbs and flows as one, as rhythms slacken and coalesce, density thickens and thins, and sonic landmarks shuffle, always remaining seductively amorphous." — Peter Margasak, The Quietus

Brandon Ross - guitar
Charles Burnham - violin
Warren Benbow - drums

if i can break the rules slightly, this one isn’t that new but i feel like it’s pretty underrated and might be new to you/others? (and is also stronger than their newer stuff)

anatomia - cranial obsession

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3bpOF4a6zM

it accompanied me on a lot of high speed rail journeys on a recent trip and my already existing love has only deepened. to me, one of the all-time doom-ed out death greats, i just can’t get enough (esp that middle stretch, “morbid hallucination,” damn)

the new voidceremony is prob my fave “actually new” thing tho. i also really liked this years chepang and endless swarm records if you want something a bit more circle pit-ey

(⊙_⊙?) (original bgm), Saturday, 21 October 2023 07:29 (two years ago)

Hi Scott! If you dig freeform psychedelic kind of krauty and very ravey electronic stuff there's this one. Disclaimer: I did the album artwork.

"Also feel like you might like this new hyperspeed drone record out today on Nyege Nyege"

you feel right! i haven't listened to anything on that label since i had a two month love affair with spotify in 2020. the only time i ever really listened to spotify.

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 13:46 (two years ago)

that was when i discovered sault. who i haven't really listened to since but it was one of those OH WOW this FEELS really NEW kinda feelings.

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 13:47 (two years ago)

jesus, imago, did you pay people to make this fire-toolz album or did they just pry it whole from your brain? hahaha! you should get a tattoo of the cover. i'm digging it!

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 14:45 (two years ago)

her album covers are all exceptional :)

imago, Saturday, 21 October 2023 14:52 (two years ago)

gonna limit myself to 3 (okay, 4) links on top of Fire-Toolz

this is my extreme metal aoty*, interpolating Turkish folk into something sheer, violent and splendid
https://kostnateni.bandcamp.com/album/pal

this is some UK garagey/dubsteppy/idky sepulchral r&b sorta vibe, except how it gleams
https://tirzah.bandcamp.com/album/trip9love

this is some lovely weirdo bedroom pop by a pal of mine. it's so lovely and weird!
https://coriandher.bandcamp.com/album/anadromous-squelch

*okay have a bonus level. metal and jazz in Marston's glorious blender, except from track 3 onwards it's palpably more jazz than metal and so so good for it
https://i-voidhangerrecords.bandcamp.com/album/determined-to-strike

imago, Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:00 (two years ago)

i will check it all out. thank you, wild man. its funny that now you guys have me searching bandcamp for the first time! haha! just in time for it be destroyed by venture capital or whatever. (it does help that i set up my new work desktop yesterday and it is swift like the wind. i was using a sluggish laptop forever.)

i've already discovered a new Kolsch album!

https://koelsch.bandcamp.com/album/i-talk-to-water

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:16 (two years ago)

(i might have spoken too soon. the new kolsch has perry farrell on it...)

putting this on which is also new.

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:19 (two years ago)

i just checked out that AOTY thread and it is a little overwhelming. yeesh. and that's me saying that! i made a YT playlist from the ILM listening thread and it has 92 videos on of it of all this avant pop stuff and lots of people wearing masks but my fave thing on it is the totally normal moroder freestyle of this track. hey, the heart wants what the heart wants. i LOVE this song and video though. can't remember who posted it but thanx! been meaning to check if there is a whole album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5v9r2vlfrY

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:31 (two years ago)

you guys would like that kompakt velvet desert music record i'm playing. very nice and spacey.

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:32 (two years ago)

I like that it's literally called Velvet Desert Music, and they Kompakt is still going.

Jordan s/t (Jordan), Saturday, 21 October 2023 15:52 (two years ago)

yeah, i love volumes 1 and 2 of the velvet desert mixes/comps.

mark e, Saturday, 21 October 2023 17:28 (two years ago)

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 18:16 (two years ago)

sometimes i buy small orders of new records and at this one distro i buy from they have pretty good prices on electronic stuff and through that distro i learned about this label. i just love this stuff. and there is so much of it! and the vinyl is cheap and looks and sounds awesome.

https://n5md.bandcamp.com/

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 18:28 (two years ago)

(every time i make an order i always buy 3 or 4 fabric mix CDs that i don't have. gotta catch 'em all. they are so cheap. like $5.99 wholesale. i still listen to the old ones all the time. haven't bought any of the new fabric vinyl though. i need my tins! they should put the vinyl in tins.)

scott seward, Saturday, 21 October 2023 18:30 (two years ago)

I saw Lewsberg the other night at the Middle East, and am really infatuated with their indie-by-numbers sound and schtick. Comfort music for people that like this sort of thing. Their new record is Out and About:
