Little Dark Age is their best album and they won't top it. I do really like the first single but this one did nothing for me.

I probably prefer this to "Mother Nature", which plays it a little too straight. this one has some turns. these are two of their weakest singles though

The Christine single is excellent!

There's been a lot of 80s revivalism all about the sonics, but "Dancing in Babylon" sounds like 80s songwriting to me - Cyndi Lauper vibes, familiar yet fresh

I end up only caring for the two title-track bookend parts, but then again, am only a v casual fan/passing admirer from afar

I enjoyed the album. Can certainly see it disappointing fans of Little Dark Age though.

this album is just alright, "dancing in babylon" is the only one where the weirdo semi-pastiche sound they've come up with here really clicks. the rest is just not quite there

definitely a better album than I thought it would be: the first three singles are probably my least favorite tracks. "Dancing in Babylon", "Nothing Changes", and closing track are all very good. this album still feels pretty far away from Congratulations or Little Dark Age

Mother nature beautiful

I'm mostly impressed these blokes, 19 years on from time to pretend and kids, still have new and interesting musical ground to cover. I've got a lot of respect for the music they've created after releasing one of the best songs of 2005 as their very first released song.

I'll repeat it again: time to pretend is absolutely phenomenal song to start your career with. The kind of song you put out then pack it up and rest on your laurels. The fact they've kept going, continuing to try new things is a real testament to the love for music these guys have. Halfway through listening to this album but I'm impressed yet again

This album is good, not great but so much better than the reaction here and in the reviews I have read. Side 2 is the highlight with "Nothing Changes" probably being the best song.

Only reason it's not great is because it followed Little Dark Age which is the best thing they have ever done.

It all goes downhill after Nothing Changes

I think the last four songs are the best part of the album!
