talk about bands or artists that are or were staples of your small-to-mid-sized local scene here. they may have had some national / international attention but they remain primarily regional or niche phenomena. people that make you proud of place and may take up the subject of where you live in their art, however obliquely.
mine is doom metal band eagle twin and i live in the bizarre, high desert hellhole that is salt lake city.
