i'm going to make a mix-tape for me and a select few others ... i'm thinking that i want it to be songs that sound like robots fucking. "erotic city" is an obvious choice -- what are some others?

Tad (llamasfur), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

i am being serious about this, so please answer!

and no, mr. sinker, i'm not putting "sy borg" on this mix.

Tad (llamasfur), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

112's "Peaches & Cream", both the original and the remix with Ludacris.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 09:26 (twenty-two years ago)

kraftwerk 'tour de france'

michael wells (michael w.), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Dunno about songs, but make a CD-R of it and use the Black Sabbath 'Technical Ecstasy' cover art!

DJ D presents Hydraulic Dogs-Shake It Baby (Junior Jack Remix)

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

For that quiet moment of post-coital reflection you definitely need Momus's "Complete History of Sexual Jealousy".

Also I guess robots would fuck to Brighton's Super_collider, especially some of the tracks off the first album like "You Loosen me Human"

Get your cover art from Diesel Sweeties or FuckingMachines.com

phil jones (interstar), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Supposedly the bonus interlude track on Beck's Midnite Vultures Between "Mixed Bizness" "Get Real Paid" is actually supposed to simulate the sound of robot-fucking. Damn.

Also: Salt 'n' Pepa's "Push It".

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Midnight Star, "Freak-a-zoid."

hstencil, Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

How about "Fix" by Flash? It's got a sort of elastic-yet-mechanical back and forth thing going on...

Conor (Conor), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I've always thought Beck's "Get Real Paid" sounded like robots fucking. Also, the intro to "New Pollution"? It has always given me visuals of 50s-ish Lost in Space style robots having a big swinger party, flirting and shmoozing and laughing and touching each other.

Anyway, pertaining to your question...
Big industrial machinery robot grudge-fuck music? Alec Empire.
Bloop-and-bleep modern digital robot fucking? Matmos.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Must have some Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk is like an Isaac Hayes rekkid for 'droids.
And some Front 242 for the hard thug sex.

Lord Custos Omega (Lord Custos Omega), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight". Hell, just go get all of the "Perfect Beats" compilations.

Kerry (dymaxia), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah, Kraftwerk for sure.

"Europe Endless" is computantric binary sexuality incarnate.

Adam A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 4 December 2002 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Trans Am "A single ray of sunlight on an otherwise cloudy day", and most songs by Servotron that don't specifically have to do with the robots killing humans.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 8 December 2003 06:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Radiohead, "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box." The instrumental break especially.

Prude (Prude), Monday, 8 December 2003 07:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurts you in the heart, but "Truth About Robots" by Calla.

David A. (Davant), Monday, 8 December 2003 07:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Autechre - the second track on Gantz Graf.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Monday, 8 December 2003 07:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Most of these choices aren't nearly sexy enough. We're talking robots fucking, not blowing eachother up with remote control handsets.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 8 December 2003 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

The Micronauts 'The Jag'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 8 December 2003 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

esp. if mixed with FC Kahuna's 'Machine Says Yes'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 8 December 2003 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Slip it To Zee Android, by Chrome

Red Meat Attraction, Sex Dwarf, and others by Leatherstrip (sounds like robot prison rape)

sucka (sucka), Monday, 8 December 2003 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Tim otm. Below is my earlier suggestion.

DJ D presents Hydraulic Dogs-Shake It Baby (Junior Jack Remix)

Superheroes by Daft Punk would be a particularly crazy robot orgy.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 8 December 2003 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Heastroke by Man Parrish, features vocoded vocals "i've got a rocket in my pocket and fire at my feat, gonna find a lady who's gentle, nice and sweet"

Take a Chance by Mr. Flagio, another vocoder love song, vintage italo-disco.

Giorgio Morder-First Hand Experiance in Second Hand Love

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 8 December 2003 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Mu : Jealous Kids
Luke Eargoggle : The Swedish Code

Wintermuté (Wintermute), Monday, 8 December 2003 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, the track I selected (Track 2 of Autechre's Gantz Graf) occured to me because it reminded me quite specifically of robots humping, albeit very violently.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Monday, 8 December 2003 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Wynonie Harris - Lovin' Machine

pauls00, Monday, 8 December 2003 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

rainman (rainman), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Armand Van Helden - "The Robots Are Cumming"!!!!! (From the "Ghandi Khan" gramophone!!!!) Particularly notable for sounding in places like a Winamp crash!!!!!!

Old Fart!!! (oldfart_sd), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Art of Noise: "Beatbox", "Moments in Love" and "Kiss" (depends on the type of fucking).

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

tim this is about robots FUCKING not making sweet sweet love, dude.

like when robots have sex do they like to use leather? or do they prefer pvc?

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Tavin Singh's "Vikram the Viking" sounds like vampire robots making love to the roots of trees from the center of the earth.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Richard X to thread, esp. 'Freak Like Me'.

Cornelius' cover of 'Brazil', particularly if the robots are programmed to act like Chris 'Funken' Klein and Mena 'Forehead Lass'' Suvari's American Pie characters during their first time scene.

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 04:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan otm on 'Superheroes' - it's like robot buttsex action!

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Jean Jacques Perrey to thread except for "The Minuet of the Robots" because I'm pretty sure that one's for sissy lovemaking homobots.

may pang (maypang), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 04:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Did anyone ever download "Nightmare of Atomic Men" because of my recommendation?

Sonny A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 04:51 (twenty-one years ago)

"tim this is about robots FUCKING not making sweet sweet love, dude.
like when robots have sex do they like to use leather? or do they prefer pvc?"

Yeah fair enough but it's not like I was nominating "Together In Electric Dreams". There *is* a middle ground between sex and rusty-jointed abrasiveness.

The second half of the Moonbootica remix of "Tessio" really fits this, as does the Ewan Pearson mix of "Perspex Sex" obv (Ha - there's your answer: they use perspex). Actually Ewan Pearson rules this thread with an iron fist.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 05:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Good old Tim, always acting as my electro house backup memory.

Barima (Barima), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:45 (twenty-one years ago)
