This thread is reminding me of when I interviewed Lenny White (drummer for Return To Forever, among many other things) and he was telling me about how he and Stanley Clarke were hanging out with Chris Squire and Patrick Moraz of Yes. Prog, fusion, funk...it was all one thing!

there's definitely a lot of funk in classic prog (well, maybe not ELP) it just comes in measured doses. so if you were looking for something a person could actually dance to you'd lean more towards motorik psychedelic stuff. but hey I'm diggin what I see in this thread so far

Cosey's dress isn't sleeveless, but the sleeves on it are quite short. looks like a striped cotton jersey dress with contrasting ribbed collar and sleeves. Basically like a stripey ringer tee in dress form. Totally cool. Something like that you could take it to a dry cleaner and have the sleeves shortened for probably $10-20, or you could get a seam ripper and remove them.

Ian Carr led Nucleus, so that’s a good call. I saw him live about 15 years ago and he was funky and proggy and jazzy.

carr also wrote biographies of miles and jarrett which are very detail-rich and musically knolwedgeable (tho as writing a bit dry for my taste)
