very big tune. another instant love. checked out some other material by both parties independent of one another and came to the conclusion that they need to work together much more frequently. no shade, just sayin.

wasn't watching discussions unfold, so don't know if it got disqualified for technically not being from 2023. but i loved it so much -+it was definitely new to me- i voted for it anyway. i recommend the long version in french. super dork disco, but goddamn great.

Dina Ögon – Mormor°
actually kind of a sympathy vote just for the band itself, as i instantly found them to rule excessively. this song is okay, but check out late entries 'glitter' + especially 'det läcker' for some of their heaviest tunes. they're quite enjoyable. older material is kind of retro am soul, newer stuff is using that as a jumping off point+becoming something else entirely. really good find. definitely a band to watch. maybe my fav thing in all of this.

Biggest mistake: nominating a Clientele track when "Claire's Not Real" was perfectly satisfactory and could have been boosted to #61 or thereabouts. That sort of indie is usually invisible in these exercises so this is devastating lol.

My biggest mistake was not voting Chale or Bad Gyals but they did fine without me. I left out Cydnee with a C at the last minute and could have helped breaking her into the top 77.

Surprised Nourished by Time didn’t make it as it seemed well loved on the board. I guess it got vote-splitted between Daddy and Rain Water Promise

That was me :) Zar Paulo is one of the best Danish singles bands at the moment, their major hit from last year Klap for Fædrelandet ('Clap for the fatherland', it's a great song to clap along to live) is already a classic, but Jeg synes du er dejlig might be my personal favourite. They're like a Danish MGMT, but more shouty and ironic (they don't actually salute the fatherland). And the lyrics are great.
