the new ep is unsurprisingly excellent, "hell of a ride," "had ya called," and "romance in me" (not to mention "hand on me") are some of the best things i've heard from them

awesome show yesterday, the earlier solo setup didn't feel limiting or anything but having two more musicians now (incl. phenomenal bassist) opens up so many possibilities for Marcus's performance / means of inhabiting the music

Yup, good stuff for sure.

new album sounding excellent. more adventurous and the hooks are a little less obvious than on either of the last two projects, but they will eventually sink their teeth in. the freestyle/hi-nrg touches (like the instrumental break in the middle of "crazy people") are always very welcome

"when the war is over"...jesus

yeah, this strikes me as a natural evolution in sound. preview tracks were definitely growers, and the rest of the album has a similar energy on first impression. really strong pace to the album, as well: 12 songs, 45 minutes. each track has such a distinct identity from one another; this feels like one of the most densely packed full lengths i've heard in while.

there's a lot to like here but i don't think it reaches the same highs as the debut and it's definitely weirder & less focused overall

Washed over me on first listen but Im getting into it now. "It's Time" is standing out for me atm

unbelievable show the other night, as much a leap from the last one i saw as that was from the first. live bass *and* guitar, a whole island of synths & sequencers, everything just so vivid and enveloping. and his voice was pretty raspy and sounded so good.

No idea how i stumbled on this music but "When The War Is Over" is an instant classic and up in the higher EOY echelons for me

Just got around to listening to the new record and I like it the most of all his releases so far.

I will third the enthusiasm for "When the War is Over."

Have to admit, took me a couple listens to warm up to his voice, but now I'm fully on board. The Passionate Ones is a very good album
