"independent women" is a great hook but the charlie's angels references kind of bring it down for me

"say my name" was a big grower/maturity wise for me. it's so weird how that happens bc you always think your taste is on point and then you prove yourself wrong.

i'd rather hear "irreplaceable" than "crazy in love" at this point

still hear "baby boy" a lot

but "single ladies" would have my vote of her solo material. to me the production adds a dash of peculiarity to the formula she was using for 'bday' -- it still sounds fresh and timeless to me in a way that those other songs don't. and i think the video is also an important BC (as in before christ) moment for her as a visual artist ... you can see her stepping up her visuals in a way that we now deeply associate w/ her music & performances

I guess it never got to #1 but "Get Me Bodied" (extended) is just the greatest thing

I could never get with "Crazy in Love," not in 2003, not now. I prefer Rich Harrison's stuff with Amerie.
