I went with Independent Woman

i feel like Destiny's is cheating but it's "Say My Name"

Morris O’Shea Salazar (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:18 (one year ago)

Runner up: “Crazy In Love”

Which will give a sense of what parts of her career I find interesting

Marten Broadcloak, mild-mannered GOP congressman (Raymond Cummings), Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:23 (one year ago)

eh, wouldn't be half as interesting without them

Indexed, Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:23 (one year ago)

say my name, followed by crazy in love and savage

the defenestration of prog (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:32 (one year ago)

Irreplaceable is such horseshit

Cemetry Gaetz (DJP), Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:49 (one year ago)

to the left to the left

Beyond Goo and Evol (President Keyes), Tuesday, 27 February 2024 17:50 (one year ago)

i just don't know about this list

Swen, Friday, 8 March 2024 02:39 (one year ago)

top two were predictable, though I'd have guessed the order would be reversed. after that, it gets interesting for sure....

Irreplaceable is such horseshit

I love this

braaam.flac (flamboyant goon tie included), Monday, 11 March 2024 14:26 (one year ago)

"independent women" is a great hook but the charlie's angels references kind of bring it down for me

c u (crüt), Monday, 11 March 2024 15:10 (one year ago)

"say my name" was a big grower/maturity wise for me. it's so weird how that happens bc you always think your taste is on point and then you prove yourself wrong.

Swen, Monday, 11 March 2024 15:13 (one year ago)

but this thread is NOT representative of beyonce as an artist lol, and i say that as someone who is not a die hard yoncay stan even

Swen, Monday, 11 March 2024 15:17 (one year ago)

Irreplaceable 0

Honestly I was just looking for this, well done everyone

Cemetry Gaetz (DJP), Monday, 11 March 2024 17:41 (one year ago)

i still like that song

dyl, Monday, 11 March 2024 20:37 (one year ago)

smooth Ne-Yo vibes I don't really see what's not to like

corrs unplugged, Monday, 11 March 2024 20:47 (one year ago)

i'd rather hear "irreplaceable" than "crazy in love" at this point

still hear "baby boy" a lot

but "single ladies" would have my vote of her solo material. to me the production adds a dash of peculiarity to the formula she was using for 'bday' -- it still sounds fresh and timeless to me in a way that those other songs don't. and i think the video is also an important BC (as in before christ) moment for her as a visual artist ... you can see her stepping up her visuals in a way that we now deeply associate w/ her music & performances

I guess it never got to #1 but "Get Me Bodied" (extended) is just the greatest thing

braaam.flac (flamboyant goon tie included), Monday, 11 March 2024 21:20 (one year ago)

I could never get with "Crazy in Love," not in 2003, not now. I prefer Rich Harrison's stuff with Amerie.

"Get Me Bodied" and "Freakum Dress" and "Suga Mama" and -- let me stop.
