no clue what to call these guys -and i'm not repeating the flippancy from their bio- but they're swedish+they've got tunes. i've been pushing 'det läcker' since the first time i heard it:

came out late last year as a standalone, but officially in february as part of their highly recommended third album orion. is it steely dan, but in the late 80s indie rock scene?

look at them get into their older retrosoul stuff:

I'm (admittedly lazily) getting more of a Little Dragon vibe than the Dan, but sounds nice!

tbh i've filed under unobtrusive faux-nostalgic background music a la khruangbin - it's a bit neat to my ears

they sold out a big local venue recently, supposedly very good live

I'm sure Daniel Ögren knows what's up

them: this is a stupidly obvious retro-filter house remix.

I love this album. I liked the last one too, but the vibe on this one is so great. The title track feels like an all-time groove to me.

real talk: it's my album of the year and it's going to need something fierce to dethrone it.

Thanks for the thread-shaped reminder! I voted for "Mormor" in the 2023 poll, but have inexplicably devoted little time to absorbing much more...
