So I think this guy deserves his own thread by now; he's pretty clearly demonstrated that while the Eurovision turn (doubled thanks to the pandemic-cancelled year) absolutely helped break him bigger by default, he's wisely not living there either. He's come through the States now a couple of times, but my first time seeing him last night, first of two sold out shows with a very enthusiastic crowd (one clutch of fans near me was singing along even to the deep cuts), was amazing. Dry but not mean sense of humor, absolutely rolling with possibilities -- there was a second, connected stage at the venue which he used brilliantly -- great voice and stage moves and presence and the music's just a sharp blend of pop tricks old and new that manages to always remind me of certain things and scenes without ever seeming like he's actually cloning anybody. Last year's album was fun and the new single out last month great too!
