possibly may have heard some velvet underground albums; perhaps also some of user soundslike's post-punk mixes

on gerard cosloy's side label 12XU

visually striking; the main singer is quite tall, the lead guitarist plays left-handed and looks like a bond villain's henchman

totally willing to get motorik:

They played here but I missed them due to poor mental health ;_;

Saw them last year and they are great live. The Velvets/motorik combo rules. Plus a stand-up drummer.

Ditto (wonder what they made of the Memphis heat?)! Was the sole voter for their album in the 2023 poll ("Droll, dry Dutch stuff in the Velvets tradition; this album there's a slight Young Marble Giants thread running through. Hit the sweet spots for me that the Yo La Tengo did for others.") Very partial to the Velvets / motorik thing as a Kiwi raised on Peter Gutteridge's work in the Clean, Snapper, etc.

Has anyone read any Robert Loesberg, the Rotterdam author they're named for? Doesn't seem like Enige defecten has been translated into English.
