I wanted to start a thread about this one because this one hits differently to a lot of recent South African dance albums.
You might know DJ Lag for his work outside of Durban's gqom scene - he's produced for Beyonce duncha know?
So while it's firmly grounded in the Gqom style, there's enough variety going on here to make each track feel fresh. Hard and heavy for the most paart, there are lovely moments of light and soul throughout.
Fave at the moment is the stentorian banger, 'Yebo' which I've already played out a couple of times and sounds enormous on even a small sound system.
Opener Iza Ngamandla is remarkably soulful, almost recalling Sun-El Musician.
I dunno man, you all should listen to this, lemme know what you think.
