It took me a while to work out how to submit my votes. It looks like you're given an allocation of 10 plus points and 2 minus points, which you can distribute amongst the songs however you want, i.e. you can give a song more than 1 plus/minus points, or you can leave a song on 0 points.

I’m gonna suck so bad at round 3 I don’t know any britpop music. I don’t even know what can be considered as Britpop besides the obvious things. Are the Stone Roses britpop? Is early The Verve allowed?

I'm not even sure I know what a groove is so I might sit the next one out for fear of making an embarrassing mistake.

Thanks to the first round for "Final Day" which I did not know and which has been haunting my brain for the last few days.

This round made me realize that the short songs I respond to most are the ones where the song itself is in some way about not quite having enough time. Also, I think, why I have always responded more strongly to the Stones cover of "Good Times" than to the Sam Cooke original: the Stones version is shorter, under two minutes, and I think that's one reason it's always given me a more intense feeling of a fleeting golden moment that will not be repeated.

I am very sad to bow out, I clearly have not had the time to participate. The first 3 or so leagues were like a highlight of my year but came seem to fit it in. :( enjoy all!

I bowed out of the ILM leagues after one season of play (the topics got too granular, sorry), but if anyone's around at about 8AM EDT I've been doing a "shuffle roulette" league 7 days a week for the last several weeks. It's most fun when you don't fudge it and actually submit the first track that comes up in your shuffle.

I think the consensus was to start up again Jan 15 with mini-league of all 2025 tracks (i'm open to ideas about how to break up those 3 rounds), followed by a regular 12-week league.

Damnit, this might be the most optimal round for my Modern Music sensibilities, but we're traveling a bunch this month and the next, starting next week.

While the act of choosing a song, then typing an admittedly-OTT blurb, all while buzzed at 30,000 feet would be a needed respite from the *points furiously in every direction* of having your city targeted by a *redacted* gaggle of *redacteds*, I won't have time to actually listen to the playlists amidst the fairly-packed itineraries (my wife is running a 10-mile race on Long Island, her cousins have an art show and concert on the NY version of Long Beach, my niece is playing basketball in Budapest, I'm going to eat all of the Nakládaný hermelín in Prague, followed by sitting along the wall at Zrno Zrnko Rumunská and downing about 10,000 kolaches). Thus, I gracefully offer my spot as the honorary Wolverhampton Wanderers (hey, Minneapolis has the Wolves, as well!) to another until I'm at home on the regular. Na zdraví!
