what should I put on my iPod?

recently bought an iPod, enjoying the offline listening experience

I want to put a bunch of stuff there that I can't listen to when I'm on some streaming service, so kinda rare stuff

also nice to put something on that plays for at least 20 mins, mixes welcome

I've become more mellow in my listening practice with age so nothing too skronk

so far I have:

never really got into Jim O'Rourke so if you recommend a particular album I'll go for it (otherwise I'll probably just check allmusic.com)

I recently fired up my old 160 gb iPod to try and transfer off a bunch of New Orleans music and bootlegs that aren't streaming. There's also a fair amount of music from friends, and some old DJ mixes that probably aren't accessible either. It still works like a charm btw.

i .. never stopped doing this (putting music on my iphone). because streaming sucks. n.b. i stopped buying new iphones before they got rid of the headphone jack. i would love an old ipod at some point. i wonder if they all support 24 96 like my phone does.

by 2010 or so the fidelity of music on that tiny thing .. god they perfected it. once everything became streaming and then bluetooth all of it went to shit.

What map said for O'Rourke. I'd go with Eureka or Halfway to Threeway for his poppier stuff.

+1 on O'Rourke, though his song-based albums are streaming now
I find myself skipping tracks played from my phone more often now, so it's time to dump it all and start over.
