Was the John Peel radio program the best musical source ever?

I think John Peel must be the best musical curator ever. I was aware of his importance about discovering new acts but i think the wide and eclectic music coverage was the highlight.

I mean, you'd have to check like 12, or even more, specialized music shows and/or specialized music sites (world music, jamaican music, techno, grindcore, gabba, pre 50's overlooked music, blues, folk, pornogrind, jungle, idm, hardcore, soca, calypso, uk garage, asian music...) to have an equivalent to Peel's show and assuming those music shows/music sites are independent and with a good ear like him.

Finally I wonder how much great music from the past (2005-2024) and present is overlooked by the absence of Peel program.

If you need to check music from the past, there's a John Peel wiki in which you can download his radio shows, that are very varied in terms of genres with a focus of new releases from back in the day.
