What do you folks shag to

Jake, Monday, 28 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I prefer not having any music on so I can hum along to my own exquisite moaning.

Stevie Nixed, Monday, 28 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I find the shag to be best done to the authentic period sounds of Bobby Comstock, Johnny Rivers,et cetera.

Bwah hah hah hah hah!

Him: Pulp

Me: anything that's *NOT* Pulp

No, really, depends on the mood. Could be anything from Raw Power to SciFi Lullabies to Bowery Electric. Yo La Tengo is good for snuggles, too. :-)

Question: what would you really NOT like to shag to?

Nick Cave is *really* kind of a mood killer...

Chris Morris's Blue Jam album is always fun, especially track 7 because you can join in.

You know, Kate, before I even saw who wrote that message, I knew it was you. ;-)

Merzbow - it blocks out the sound for people living nextdoor. I discovered the ultimate mood killer by accident - I was for some reason enjoying the first Limp Bizkit record, when she came over, and I didn't have time to turn it off. Here's a question - does anybody stop in the middle to put on / turn off / change music? Or is this inappropriate?

To seriously answer the question, dub is actually pretty good. Anything with a lot of bass.

Which Merzbow, Dave? Music For Bondage Performance, perhaps?

Sean Carruthers, Monday, 28 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Histoire de Melody Nelson", obviously.

My next project is to try sofa preliminaries in precisely 8 minutes 13 seconds of "I Feel Love" followed by 16:47 of "Love to Love You Baby" on the bed. Seems way more than enough to wrap it up decently.

Merzbow is a singular pick... My mate Martin shags to Gorgoroth. Or Gehenna. Or Nightwish at the very least if the girl is rather too impressionable. It should be noted, obviously.

Metallica

He means Merzbox, surely: the only item that can match his stamina. Hence the question about the etiquette of changing the CD. Of course even 50 changes can be woven into a Real Merzman's marathon technique.

Dead Can Dance is pretty cool for that purpose.

I had one paartner who would only shag me if we had the natural Born Kilelrs soundtrack on. Tom Waiets early stuff on a rainy morning in Buenos Aires was nice and melancholy, ass good fucks often are, and I did go down to a porno soundtrack once - name/artist escapes me for all the right reasons.

Geoff, Tuesday, 29 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dude... In A Gadda Da Vida... Dude...

JM, Tuesday, 29 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Recently, Tummy Touch compilations- Tim 'Love' Lee. That's what it's made for. Has anyone else seen the pull-out board game - it's similar to Twister, guaranteed to break the ice at parties, but apart from sex, that's all their Latino House is good for.

K-reg, Tuesday, 29 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Ass good fucks often are... melancholy."

Well that's how I'd feel too, knowing my time in ass-good-fucking Buenos Aires was short.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 29 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and another way to misinterpret that...

"yes, good fucks often are of the ass variety, melancholy though they may be."

ask a silly question...
