That Manslaughter 777 album is amazing. And this definitely isn't the thread for that, but I just love The Body and their weird side-projects. Perhaps more than I love the main project.

Last month I was able to go to a club night in Manchester (my first time in the UK) that confirmed that all this music (and amazing genre-blurring djing that plays with rhythm and tempo, and uses four-on-the-floor for an effect) exists in the real world.

(ironic and a little bittersweet since I've felt more detached from dance music this year than anytime in the past decade, but it was a great night)

new beatrice M and low end activist really doing it for me, although maybe former is just "bass" but this is sort of also the de fact bass/post dubstep music thread i feel like

and yeah to jordan's point i wish nyc had more of that dj style. akanbi and the groovy groovy party serve it well but most of nyc clubbing is seamless 4x4 mixing at the same tempo, which is great and all, but so hegemonic
