I have access to a lot of classic rock and awful "active" alt rock. Be creative.

"Sweet" and sloppy.

Nice handle for this thread, by the way.

Oh, for crying out loud. I knew that a Geocities account couldn't handle that.

This should definitely work:
soundcollage screamo breakdowns into Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion"

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

haha that rules... it sounds like something i would do to mix from John Zorn/Yamantaka Eye's "Bad Hawkwind" into Aerosmith....

Professor Challenger (ex machina), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Too bad the classic rock station doesn't have any John Zorn.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

thats nice! are you testign new software?

:|, Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

and can you mix foo fihgters "wattershed" with the intro of chameleons "swamp thing"?

:|, Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I work for a radio station. I'm just messing around with our CoolEdit.

I'd try that,:|, but unfortunately I'm limited to radio-friendly classic rock and "alternative" commercial stuff. I've got the Foos, but only the hits.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

i see.

:|, Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you give Bon Jovi's "Livin' On a Prayer" a glitchy remix treatment? And throw in an industrial-gabba breakdown halfway through?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

!

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I would, but I'm only here for another hour.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe a project for another day then ...

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 3 October 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Suddenly I'm reminded of
this CD

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 3 October 2004 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

THAT looks cool.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, Barry. Keep in mind that this is eight different shades of TEH GAY.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Good grief. I'm going home.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 3 October 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

try no slash after mp3 ...

m0stly clean (m0stly clean), Sunday, 3 October 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Not bad, now lay an Oval track and/or a slice filter over the slowed-down portion in the middle and its almost there.
And maybe ramp up the frequency of the slice filter before splicing it into three seconds of Moby's "Thousand", and finally an abrupt cut to the outro ...

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 3 October 2004 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

four months pass...
Ignore all those dead links up there, but I'm bored again today. Give me some classic rock and/or "modern" ingredients for a thirty-second mash-up. I'll have to gmail it unless someone has a site that can host mp3s.

"Livin on a Prayer" vs. "Loser."

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Easy one: Linkin Park vs. Depeche Mode.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

(Dang, you guys sure do like "Livin' on a Prayer"....)

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Done. Anyone want to host it?

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I was thinking of Orbital's Prayer + Belinda Carlisle thing. Why not try yousendit? Gives you a link for, I dunno, several days or several downloads, something like that.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

We'll see if this works. Thanks for the yousendit suggestion, Nabisco.
