FRKWYS : RVNG is a dish best served POLLED

A series released on ace NY label, RVNG. I've been listening to a few again recently and they're patchy but always interesting. Not sure how much interest there will be but I've given lead time in case anyone wants to catch up on the ones they've missed... (FYI, there's no mistake in the catalogue numbers: they skipped no.1)

If I was to vote now it'd be either Blues Control & Laraaji, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe & Ariel Kalma, or the Visible Cloaks one but I realise now I've not actually heard the Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith & Suzanne Ciana one or the Ian William Craig & Daniel Lentz one, so...

I only know vol 7, but it’s really incredible beautiful morning synth music

This track off the Blues Control/Laraaji one is glorious. When they eventually record the music of the spheres, it'll be like Laraaji's laugh, hopefully.

I thought Gibby Haynes was a great freaky match for Psychic Ills, so I'm going with Vol. 4.

I've only heard a handful of these so I'd have to vote for 9 myself, but I really want to hear 4 & 8.

I've almost completely forgotten the Gengras Sun Araw Congos one. Need a re-listen.

Glad to see they're on Bandcamp, sleeve!

Love the Juan Atkins remix on 4. Used to own and liked 3.

The Congos one is pretty good.

i've probably spent the most time w/ the visible cloaks one... the sun araw/congos is really cool... but craig/lentz is too good

Only heard two of these. “The Congos one” as we are calling it was the Wire’s top album of whatever year it came out. I liked it, but didn’t know who sun araw and m geddes gengras are (makes me think of Barbara Bel Geddes) nor really cared. Also once owned the KAS and Suzanne Ciani one but don’t remember it.

Crack's Addition (Boring, Maryland), Sunday, 30 March 2025 04:44 (eight months ago)

Has to be freakways I think? Forkways?

I listened to the Lopatin one. Good stuff.

Genuinely surprised mine was the only vote for Sunergy.

Good turnout! The Laraaji/Blues Control record only getting one vote is plain *wrong*.

ehh i think i missed this. pity, i like this series. arp and anthony moore was the first i picked up on, glad that one got a few votes. visible cloaks prob the one i’ve played the most times/most recently. ciani the biggest disappointment. i don;t think ive heard laraaji/blues control, sounds promising. a+ thread title.
