So, I was initially interested in calling for an ilx "tribute" where we all pick a title and use an AI to generate an automatic song and host it calling it "Is this really what we want?"
Then I thought better of it. Some are heavily against, some are using this as an intermediate tool, some are worried for artists they personally know that are trying to make a living and how this is going to affect them.
I tried it, generated a song. It took 30 mins and it was fairly decent.
I heard about a Beatles 'tribute' called The Dodos, some of the vocals sound quite like John/Paul/George but the songs are quite poor and the music is of robots.
I dunno. Those that can, will do good things.
Then again, advertising will either generate low cost music's for their bed, or stick to reviving oldies.
This is probably a debate that's been done, but the discussion goes on..
