Ever heard of KiT? (It stands for "Keep in Touch," apparently.) It's a little cartridge that you pair with an app so you can listen to music on your phone, except the pairing only lasts for 24 hours, and the necessity to re-up is meant to encourage intentionality in one's listening, instead of grazing around streaming services like some kind of sheep. Apparently it's big in the K-pop world, and now Earache Records is picking up on it, selling a bunch of catalog titles for $23 a pop. This seems dumb as shit to me, but perhaps younger listeners (or am I the youngest ILXor at 53?) have other thoughts.
