Is there a difference between “sing through their nose” and sing “straight through the nose”?

I would argue yes. All resonant singing requires some singing through your nose. The dude from Incubus is using nasal resonance to generate a reasonably rounded tone most of the time, particularly in his lower register, whereas someone like Keith Sweat or Perry Ferrell is just singing 100% in nasal resonance without engaging any other part of the vocal apparatus, which is why they have that strong buzzsaw quality in their singing voices. When Boyzone were recording I always thought Stephen Gateley was an astonishing proponent of the nose sing. Sorry in advance for sharing this truly terrible song.
