Surely one of the all time compilations. Certainly a game changer for me when I bought it circa 1999 in that it presented reggae and West Indian music in an unfussy hotchpotch of styles from early dancehall to calypso to dub and rocksteady, all jumbled up in an order that just made sense and with little in the way of explanation.
Of course, the other comps in this series are excellent too, but 300% seems to transcend those by miles. Perhaps it's the inclusion of at least three iconic stalwart bangers (Sleng Teng, Bam-Bam, Uptown Top Ranking), as well as the absolutely excellent Coconut Woman and Jungle Lion which are big standouts for me.
It would almost have been better to do a "Worst song on..." poll, but that would be unfair - this is a pretty much perfect comp.
