A thread about the Bay-area kid cover band The Graystones

Surely some of you have seen these videos popping up on social media. I'm kind of addicted to them, as these kids can really play. Or can they? Despite all the hosannas they're receiving, there are a few skeptics accusing them of lip synching or playing along to pre-recorded music. The band insists everything is recorded direct from the soundboard from a live feed. What say you? These are my two favorites so far.

I'd buy that it's live, the drums are electronic so everything can go direct without hitting air except for the vocals, then I assume it's mixed by one of the parents, lol.

Seems like a perfectly current phenomenon, so many kids can play prodigiously well after inhaling untold tutorial videos and watching other kid virtuosos. And all old music is new again.

are these kids 3 o'clock rock or school of rock graduates? I'd guess so.

the cynic in me says "every generation gets the Milli Vanilli it deserves" but my heart says "aw they're all so cute, and they have chops!"

I respect Jordan's take on the sound and they are prob legit, there's like an entire generation of kids doing this stuff

side tidbit: the School of Rock outlets in the east bay are run by Tony Sales. Not THAT Tony Sales (from Iggy Pop's the Idiot/Tin Machine), but his son.
