The Brit Award for British Producer of the Year is an award given by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), an organisation which represents record companies and artists in the United Kingdom.[1]

The award was first presented in 1977. It was not presented in 1989, between 1999 and 2008, in 2017 or 2021.

who is your favourite winner? who do you think would/should have won the award had it been presented in 1989/1999-2008/2017/2021?

Went to check what George Martin was doing in 1977 and apparently his award was "Best British Producer (of the past 25 years)".

I'd've voted for George Michael if he won his nomination for "Listen Without Prejudice" in 1991 (voted instead for A.G. Cook fwiw): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKrV8w3lxLE

I like that they brought it back after ten years just so they could give yet another award to Rockferry.

majority of these are WRONG YEAR and a few are just silly, did Dave Stewart really deserve to win three times? I've also gone for AG Cook as he had a great year.

'epworth's in twice.

So, 2017 seems notable for being missed out - who would have, that they didn't want to acknowledge?

The first Brit awards, as you said, were for the past 25 years.

Outstanding Contribution to Music was awarded jointly, to The Beatles, and L.G.Wood

Wood, so famous and such a contribution, he has no wiki page.

In the 80's annoying pratducer, Dave Stewart got bored of winning and declaring himself a polymath/maverick/genius. So then by the 90's he decided to spend his time declaring that Damien Hirst was a peerless creative genius who was on a par with Picasso. Lol, what a befuddled dickhead!

It's dated for the year of the ceremony, being awarded for the work of the previous year.
