Somehow I really get into this guy's albums for a bit, and then forget he exists until the next one comes out.

The new one is excellent: real Necks/Oren Ambarchi vibes but with more pop track lengths (which makes the whole thing seem more pop generally, maybe); percussive (almost D&B at times), drifty and all-enveloping, with occasional spaghetti western overtones. The songs with Sofie Royer on vocals are really awesome, especially "Speak For Me" which sounds absolutely devastated.

Thanks for the heads-up, not what I expected at all. Everything I've heard from him before has been cool but very soundscape-y. Loving how Portishead and noirish this is.

Yep there are definitely stretches that remind me of Third (or even Lives Outgrown).

Revisited Stadium and dug it. The bubbling ever-panning array of plinks, clunks and chicks under smudged impressionist orchestrations is quite lovely.
Admittedly i was staring out the window of a train at beautiful scenery.

Don't ignore the two live albums, either, I think they might be my favourite of his.

Need to spend more time with this - parts of it bring to mind a l grotty Seefeel.
