Newport Jazz Festival

no, but I'm jealous! I was out there a couple weeks ago and was looking into it couldn't make it happen. looks like you'll have amazing weather too

No but I just looked at the lineup and I'm having fomo now.

Highlights from today:
Moses Yoofee Trio - clearly inspired by Herbie's "Headhunters", a great opener for the weekend
Ron Carter Quartet - he's 88 and still killing it! Each member is a master of their instrument.
Sofi Tukker - fun duo, their Brazilian inspired stuff really got the crowd moving
Bobby Sanabria and Sexteto Ibiano - phenomenal Cuban music with a bit of salsa
Thee Sacred Souls - fantastic classic style soul review

Lots of other good things, I enjoy going to Newport Jazz because I always see artists who I'd otherwise never see. Today it was Raye and her 12 member band all in tuxedos playing some standards as well as her stuff.

Day 2 highlights:
Rich Ruth - space jazz? Neo psych? A great ride with any label.
Knower - video game music meets Jpop, very fun
Sam Henshaw - great Neo soul
Bela Fleck Trio - banjo and harp going places none has gone before

Lots of great jazz along the way as your expect.

Have you seen the Tyshawn Sorey Trio

I saw the first 15 minutes of their set on the way to someone else. Good stuff.

Day 3, best day of the weekend:
Parlor Greens - Booker T organ with guitar heroics, great fun
La Lom - in the Marc Robot vein, Latin surf music
Cymande - great souljazz funk
De La Soul - classic
Cecile McLorin Salvant - wonderful classic jazz vocalist
Esperanza Spalding - great voice, eclectic style
