Tear It Down is such a lovely end-of-the-world song. my favorite

I prefer this one to Lucifer on the Sofa, by which I mean I like about four or five songs on it as opposed to two or three.

I was wondering if there are any suggestions for a block that people would like to see me run? I'm going to do Goth at some point but would love suggestions. See the 1975 link upthread if you're confused by the question.

Not voting because this is the one Spoon record since 2002 I haven't heard;
but though I agree they maintain a certain consistent quality,
the last album burned me out on them somewhat
inasmuch as I got tired trying to decide
whether each song was "good" or just "pretty good".

Lucifer on the Sofa was mediocre at best but the run from GCT to this album is one of the best ever. You have ~ 48 hours to vote and I hope to talk you into a fast listen. Watch the video I posted and if intrigued enough then listen to the album, I don't think you will be disappointed. This was their left turn, the electronic or New Order album. I feel like it works and wish they continued down this path instead of trying to capture something from the past like Lucifer try's to do.

This album actually rules

DIHtTYiI has fun spoon swagger, and Pink Up, for reasons in display in vid above has beautiful haunting patient development and asides, but First Caress gets my vote— which surprised me. It’s a good tune, but also the things they drop in delight me. There’s the weird wobbly fx’ed melodic percussion thing, there’s the descending piano arpeggio that they let go on, there’s the silly coconut water/milk complaint. It really pleases me as whole thing.

Voted for full medical and dental (but it could’ve been so many other songs instead)

To answer my own question, this block was going to originally be 2000s American indie like the Battles and Liars or stuff like that. Seeing Spoon changed that as I thought Paramore and/or the 1975 would be better picks even if it was their lesser albums. Like I started I'm going to do a Goth block ar some point but would like other suggestions. I was even thinking of maybe a britpop block but very unsure about that one. I do think I found my answer. I'm probably going to do something to honor Ozzy, we'll see.

"Can I Sit Next to You" is my jam.

Ended up voting for "Do I Have to Talk You Into It." This album has hooks for days, loved listening again before seeing them. Was surprised that I didn't vote for "Pink Up" but I think that is because I love that live version and the studio version isn't as good.

That being said I really don't understand the love for "WhisperI'lllistentohearit" I do like it but wouldn't make my Top 5 from this album.

There are like 5 or 6 songs here that I think are great. I love cisnty

way jealous. the only time i sawr em was on the alt headliner tour with weezer and spoon opened. i was so happy. but i really wanna see them as main event. even as “no rock heroes” guy, they are my rock heroes. so cliché.
