"Mue" is really good - i struggle to remember which metamkine musique concrete thing is which tho.
The JIm O is unsurprisingly grand and just amazing that he put that together back in 1993 ( would've been 24 i think?

massaman gai (front tea for two), Wednesday, 1 October 2025 11:26 (two months ago)

other fun 3"s:

Voted Marchetti, love that whole series of Metamkine "Cinéma Pour L'Oreille" discs. The Christian Zanési and Walter Ruttmann releases are the highlights of the 20 or so I picked up but they're all great.

I have a Japanese import copy of the Boredoms' Chocolate Synthesizer that included the Super Roots 2 3". Apparently: Not sold in stores. Only available via lottery to listeners who sent a postcard included with the Chocolate Synthesizer first Japanese edition CD. Which wasn't me so no idea why my copy includes it. These little things are so neat you can put them anywhere!

Have a number of these 3"s laying around, but they're so small that they they tend to get lost as I haven't had the discipline to dedicate a small box for them. Voted for Drugsherpa, maybe my favourite Muslimgauze release. The O'Rourke one in poll is great as well, the whole Metamkine 3" set would be super nice to own, I only have a few. Expo 70 (Justin Wright) has released a couple of tasty three inchers as well.

Organum vs. Marchetti vs. Menche

Seconded on that Metamkine series, Karkowski, Radigue and Wehowksy my personal faves but all very good!

Always loved this format but don't have too many - a couple of the Lenka Lente NWW with various authors book/3" series, a couple of homemade Suishou no Fune things, a strange one by long-forgotten Swedish group Niellerade Fallibilisthortar packed in an algae-soaked sponge, a nice one by Matt Shoemaker that I should really play again, it's been awhile.

Ms. Telecom's one and only release (so far) was a 3" CD.

I just stumbled across my copy of the Black Dice "Lost Valley" 3" a thing I forgot ever existed and I have no memory of purchasing

chr1sb3singer, Monday, 13 October 2025 21:08 (one month ago)

it's good! right before Beaches & Canyons iirc, same sprawling glorious mess sound

sleeve, Monday, 13 October 2025 21:18 (one month ago)

I am little worried about playing it my NAD player is notoriously fussy about playing anything that isn't a bog-standard compact disc

chr1sb3singer, Monday, 13 October 2025 21:23 (one month ago)

"What is this a CD-R?"
"no, it's a regular CD"
"Not going chance it *ERROR TO READ*"
