She's very cool. I saw her last year when she was touring Sentiment, which I guess is about as "pop" as she's gotten (although hardly really pop). She had the whole stage done up as a teenager's bedroom, and she kind of wandered around it turning things on and off, playing guitar and then putting it back down, but none of it was aimless, it was all structured and had a real narrative effect without actually providing any narration. I gather the new album is a return to more musique concrete stuff.

Got a ticket for tomorrow night in Portland.

Really good show tonight, half the audience bowed and listening hard. Light crowd, so it’s worth catching her on this tour!

I saw her last year (with the tour where she recreated a bedroom on stage) and it was amazing. And she's the sweet person ever. Surprisingly, I was lucky to spend the midnight on my 35th birthday in her company.
