There's no thread for him, the man who was initially supposed to play bass & guitar simultaneously on D'Angelo's Voodoo, before Pino came into the fold.

So so funky and lyrical while making it look absolutely effortless and keeping up that maniacal grin.

became a big fan of his version of Natty Dread after seeing him perform on Conan back in the day, I should def check out more of his albums

He produced ( and maybe played on) 2 albums a 19 year s old Silvana Estrada from Mexico recorded with some other musicians that blended Latin folk and jazz. Estrada’s subsequent albums are more Latin indie folk, but she signed off on getting her music with Hunter reissued after it had gone out of print

I kinda like iridescent spree with kurt elling.

Would be happy to hear recommends for other "jazz singer with not widely heard and somewhat odd set of tunes" albums.
