I love every song on here -- mystical epics, numbskull anthems, early '70s revives, big '80s ballads, everything -- but Mideast Vacation is one of the greatest songs Neil ever wrote or recorded. It's the Landing on Water spirit spilled all over the Horse.

I’ve never heard this before but Mideast Vacation is a terrific, weird opener with a killer last line. Definitely in for this.

(Unrelatedly, my mouth dropped to the floor when the second track turned out to be Neil Young covering the theme tune from Grandstand, until I realised 10 seconds later that Spotify had shuffled to “Forget About You” by The Motors.)
