Great idea for a thread! I can't keep up either, but the one I've really loved this year was the Ale Hop & Titi Bakorta album. They were great live as well.

I love the funk bruxaria stuff they put out.

Great label - I don't love everything they put out but it's always worth a listen. Have you guys nommed any of the ones from this year in the EoY poll thread?

An old one that I absolutely loved was 'Uingizaji Hewa' by Duke, all the way back from '19, apparently: https://nyegenyegetapes.bandcamp.com/album/uingizaji-hewa

I'm a huge fan, nominated a couple of this year's releases in the poll (Nakibemebe Embaire Group & Naoyuki Uchida, and the Jako Maron), will have to go back through my faves.

I feel like I virtually always end up voting for one of their releases in EOY polling. This slightly more IDM-adjacent one (*inadequate description alert*) also caught my attention in the nominations thread this week:

A few more from the past that I remember hitting the spot when my brain craved borderline ridiculous footwork-adjacent rhythms or whatever. :)

Saccades is something of an outlier. I guess I had a soft spot for Rian Treanor already but going to Uganda to collaborate with trad fiddle player Ocen James made for an interesting surprise.
