I know it’s polling season, but can we talk about this album? I’m so curious what other people think of it and how they would describe it.

If I was going for accuracy I’d say “the midpoint between Erika de Casier and Oklou” but it is also exactly the music I imagined when I read of Actress’s “brand of R&B concrete” but before I heard Actress, and then separately I found myself thinking “what if the T-1000 was a Tweet album and it was frozen in liquid nitrogen and then shot with a bullet and shattered into a thousand pieces?”

I don’t wish to deny your reality but I clicked them again and they worked for me

I'm temporarily in Albania so who knows.

Anyway found it, video for Blush was an excellent followup to the Logic1000 DJ-Kicks I'd been listening to.

I like this a lot, thanks for mentioning it again

I am having a slightly aggravating internal dialogue about this while listening. I haven't landed on anything I think is worth sharing yet, but it's a compelling mixture that's hard to pin down. EdC and Oklou I can see, but I don't know: so much of this is like 80% vocal layering 20% skeletal, broken-into-shards production that those comps don't quite communicate the full feeling. your rnb concrete comment makes a lot of sense to me though! I'm on "multiLove" right now and it sounds more like Fennesz than anything else I can think of

Yeah I think that's right, though there are stretches of the album (esp. in the second half) that are a little bit more straightforward, as if, having established the R&B-Fennesz playbook, Ouri can then afford to pull off the mask for a few moments

love this album instantly even though she loves putting frequencies my ears hate in her songs
