Haha true. But some 90s acts are getting rediscovered like Duster and they are far bigger now than they were then.

Always loved this little trip hop band that got totally screwed by Capitol Records. They put out a couple of new songs in 2023, which was pretty exciting. I hope they do more.

What does it take to signify that some artist or another is revived? Having a song feature in a film or prestige show? An ad for a Fortune 500 company?

The Lung Leg we're talking about were named after the actress. Kill Rock Stars put out a compilation of their first 2 singles and they had a split 7" with the Make Up but I think apart from that they probably wouldn't have been easy to find in the US

I think Happy Mondays are kaput but Black Grape released an album in 2017 and another in 2024, both of them were surprisingly good to my ears...not as great as the first one obv, but better than the second

June of 44 tour here and there, especially in Italy. Rodan is likely a no, as is Rachel's, since Jason Noble is dead

xp Maid To Minx is ok but I like their singles more. although I did learn not so long ago there were 2 versions of the album. I have the re-recorded one from 1999. could be the original version is better?

Yeah the LP is fine if a bit too normy, I would recommend Hey Sir! which is a compilation of the first two EPs. Also am obsessed with the final thing they released (until 2025), a song called Krayola on a split 7" with The Make Up

think you could fit their entire discography including both versions of the LP and Peel sessions on a single CD

I don't know about a revival, but could Kill Rock Stars maybe compile a complete Huggy Bear set (like what they once did for Kleenex/Lilliput)?

oh man that would rule (although the 10" is really their peak, could never get into the LP after that)

I know they've done a few one-off shows here and there but I could stand for a full Velocity Girl revival. Their recent "Sympatico!" remaster got a lot of attention and the time is ripe.

I do find it a bit amusing that's there has been a little bit of a revival/rediscovery in the past few years on RYM of the artist, Spookey Ruben, who for the longest time was a bit of a bit an injoke between me and friend given how often we would randomly see the music video for Wendy McDonald get airplay on MuchMusic in the early 2000s, despite the song being from the mid 90s.
