Seeking feedback on my guide to unusual and experimental music events in Scotland

Hi folks

For about a year now, I've been creating a comprehensive guide to unusual and experimental music and sound-related events coming up in Scotland. It's assembled via a few hours of exhaustive research every month covering around 100 different sources. It covers bands or artists featured in places like The Wire, The Quietus, and similar publications.

I'd really love any feedback you might have on it. Specifically on how easy it is to use and whether you think I'm taking too broad an approach to the artists/genres I'm including.

You can find the latest edition here.

I like that. I wonder if making it more search-limitable by city/town (giving each region its own page even) would make it a bit more navigable, but London could certainly do with something like this that expressly caters to alternative/experimental fans. If I'm taking a trip to Scotland any time soon I'll definitely consult this just in case

As for the broadness of the artists covered, broader is better honestly

yes this is good stuff, especially for the smaller towns. I agree that some kind of filtering would help.

Perhaps you're aware, but there's already a site for DIY gig listings in Glasgow and Edinburgh - https://communalleisure.com/. Slightly different criteria I think, so while there's overlap yours is definitely still valuable, but maybe they could be saving you a little time (and vice versa).

Hi Glasgow resident here, would find this useful, ty. I used to be on an email list for similar type gigs in Scotland, but that was years ago now. IIRC the guy who ran the list also organised a coach from Glasgow to the Sonic Youth-curated All Tomorrow's Parties in Minehead, still the best music festival I've ever been to, so will always feel grateful to coach guy for putting that on.

And yes, the broader the better.

This is all really, really helpful. Thank you. Full response pending but you may find this useful for London - https://gel.now/

"gel (grassroots events london) is a new listings and ticketing site, providing a more equitable and transparent model for access to grassroots nightlife, arts and culture in london. we provide an alternative to the monopoly of corporate ticketing platforms, serving the needs of grassroots venues, artists and audiences.
