The album will feature appearances by Paul McCartney, Robert Smith (The Cure), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Steve Winwood.

First of the two sounds good, second we'll likely hear at CVS.

Both these new songs are awful. Didn't Jagger used to be at least a competent lyricist? I guess that was before I was born, though.

The message seems to be: even when these guys looked young, they were kind of cringe.

Video is awful. Song is better than McCartney's new Wattstrosities, though. I'll give them that.

I think the song is great, I'm easily pleased. Video is just whatever. Pretty impressive deaging if it's deaging; well done face-swapping if that's what it is. One wonders why though.

This video - Justin Hawkins of the Darkness talking about the new song and the video - is really interesting. He's smart (I've interviewed him).

I like the Hawkins channel. He's smart and funny. I don't think he offers that much in that particular video, but he does at least introduce a couple of troubling concepts re: AI. I know that Watt hack co-wrote a few songs on the last album, I wonder if he had a hand in this one, too? Because I could totally imagine this slick dork of a producer using AI to massage a Stones song (it's a pretty good song) into shape. I do agree with Hawkins, too, that using AI to prettify the Stones - and especially Keith - totally misses the point. It would have been great had they de-aged the band but still left them torn and frayed rather than shiny and out of the box new.

Pat Finnerty had an Andrew Watt rant the other night, described him as rock's Ponce de Leon, attracting every one of these acts in search of the fountain of youth. Stones, Macca, Pearl Jam, Michael Stipe ...

Yeah, it's funny how the producers these guys use to make themselves feel young and hip and vital — Don Was, Brendan O'Brien — age out, but the artists themselves never do...
