Surprised it's taken this long to utilize that title for something.

"In The Stars"

Lithium Just Madison (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 19:57 (three weeks ago)

The album will reportedly primarily consist of leftover compositions from the band's last album, Hackney Diamonds.[10]

the least promising sentence in history. but i'm glad there's another album in them regardless.

lol no kidding

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:20 (three weeks ago)

The album will feature appearances by Paul McCartney, Robert Smith (The Cure), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Steve Winwood.

First of the two sounds good, second we'll likely hear at CVS.

Strait of Merzbow (Eazy), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:21 (three weeks ago)

I actually love the cover art, if you are going to go bad, go obnoxiously bad.

Robert Smith (The Cure)

struggling with this, feels like a category error to end all category errors, like the Star Wars/Elephant Man crossover nobody wanted

Cod:Shellfish (emsworth), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:54 (three weeks ago)

Both these new songs are awful. Didn't Jagger used to be at least a competent lyricist? I guess that was before I was born, though.

wipes chooser (unperson), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:54 (three weeks ago)

Andrew Watt is like the worst producer in the world, these new songs are horrible

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:56 (three weeks ago)

looking forward to never hearing anything from this album

Serfin' USA (sleeve), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 20:57 (three weeks ago)

is this just going to be that robert smith played a little guitar or something because i can't imagine how that would be a good fit at all otherwise

ufo, Tuesday, 5 May 2026 21:40 (three weeks ago)

I can hear Jagger doing a preening "In Between Days."

Strait of Merzbow (Eazy), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 21:44 (three weeks ago)

Or a peeved "Shake Dog Shake."

boners for bombs (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 21:45 (three weeks ago)

From the Consequence FB:

Mick Jagger reveals how Robert Smith ended up on The Rolling Stones' new album:

"I turned up one day to do my vocals in London and there's this bloke standing there with his back to me with his long gown on, and when he turned around he was covered in lipstick.

"I've never met him before and I said, 'You are Robert Smith of The Cure.' And he said, he said, 'Yeah, we've never met.' And then I said, 'Well, while you're here then you'd better go and do something.' That's how collaborations work sometimes. Go out and sing the backing vocal."

Lithium Just Madison (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 21:50 (three weeks ago)

is that not a clickhole article

ivy., Tuesday, 5 May 2026 21:51 (three weeks ago)

Robert smith should have been like no thanks mick jagger

boners for bombs (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 22:03 (three weeks ago)

Best Stones cover art in like 40 years, shame the Andrew Watt production means an automatic skip for me; he should be jailed for pitch correction crimes alone.

Davey D, Tuesday, 5 May 2026 22:30 (three weeks ago)

Andrew Watt is the Dave Stewart we deserve.

boners for bombs (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 May 2026 22:33 (three weeks ago)

i liked the cover art to A Bigger Bang a lot more than this

i'm a sucker for eurostile and the colours are good but it is still their worst (though not as resonance-free as steel wheels)

you can see me from westbury white horse, Thursday, 7 May 2026 19:04 (two weeks ago)

I'm 73 and dancing likes a fifteen. Thanks Stones

Attention kids, class is in session, Professor Jagger teaching the pretenders how it's done

omar little, Thursday, 7 May 2026 19:10 (two weeks ago)

They got their "Mojo Going" on this one!

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 7 May 2026 19:25 (two weeks ago)

I'd even say they've got their Bobo Honking.

The Quaker Gurvitz Army (President Keyes), Thursday, 7 May 2026 19:27 (two weeks ago)

leftover compositions

wasn't 'Waiting on a Friend' exactly this?

Andy the Grasshopper, Thursday, 7 May 2026 21:05 (two weeks ago)

I hope they tour this and the entire set is this album in its entirety, plus a handful of hits for the encore.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 7 May 2026 21:14 (two weeks ago)

but I'm not waiting on a Waiting on a Friend

you can see me from westbury white horse, Thursday, 7 May 2026 21:16 (two weeks ago)

Just listened to some of Andrew Watt's solo music, truly some of the most dire shit I've ever heard. How is it possible that this person keeps getting work?

Cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria de Episcopio, Thursday, 7 May 2026 21:26 (two weeks ago)

The CGI Mick Jagger in the new video is... unsettling.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT5LwwEHgnc

Also, what's the message here? That this is how many people it takes to make a Rolling Stones album in 2026?

wipes chooser (unperson), Thursday, 14 May 2026 19:39 (one week ago)

The message seems to be: even when these guys looked young, they were kind of cringe.

The Quaker Gurvitz Army (President Keyes), Thursday, 14 May 2026 19:47 (one week ago)

i like the song more than anything they've done since bridges to babylon even if the song is a pretty sad commentary on how they view themselves

Cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria de Episcopio, Thursday, 14 May 2026 20:03 (one week ago)

*the video is a sad commentary

the 70;s are back sex drugs and rock and roll

omar little, Thursday, 14 May 2026 20:06 (one week ago)

They should have de-aged the Stones and aged-up Odessa A’zion into her '80s.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 14 May 2026 20:07 (one week ago)

They need to have an 80 year old woman dancing around them as they play instead of like Sidney Sweeney.

The Quaker Gurvitz Army (President Keyes), Thursday, 14 May 2026 20:29 (one week ago)

why not both?

Video is awful. Song is better than McCartney's new Wattstrosities, though. I'll give them that.

completely suited to the horny decadence (Capitaine Jay Vee), Friday, 15 May 2026 14:12 (one week ago)

I think the song is great, I'm easily pleased. Video is just whatever. Pretty impressive deaging if it's deaging; well done face-swapping if that's what it is. One wonders why though.

I? not I! He! He! HIM! (akm), Friday, 15 May 2026 17:59 (one week ago)

This video - Justin Hawkins of the Darkness talking about the new song and the video - is really interesting. He's smart (I've interviewed him).

wipes chooser (unperson), Sunday, 17 May 2026 01:22 (one week ago)

Pretty great song, agreed; video is weird, and why 600 guitarists, 50 drummers, 20 keyboards and not a single bass player?

assert (matttkkkk), Sunday, 17 May 2026 05:06 (one week ago)

I like the Hawkins channel. He's smart and funny. I don't think he offers that much in that particular video, but he does at least introduce a couple of troubling concepts re: AI. I know that Watt hack co-wrote a few songs on the last album, I wonder if he had a hand in this one, too? Because I could totally imagine this slick dork of a producer using AI to massage a Stones song (it's a pretty good song) into shape. I do agree with Hawkins, too, that using AI to prettify the Stones - and especially Keith - totally misses the point. It would have been great had they de-aged the band but still left them torn and frayed rather than shiny and out of the box new.

Josh in Chicago, Sunday, 17 May 2026 13:46 (one week ago)

Pat Finnerty had an Andrew Watt rant the other night, described him as rock's Ponce de Leon, attracting every one of these acts in search of the fountain of youth. Stones, Macca, Pearl Jam, Michael Stipe ...

Josh in Chicago, Sunday, 17 May 2026 17:12 (one week ago)

Yeah, it's funny how the producers these guys use to make themselves feel young and hip and vital β€” Don Was, Brendan O'Brien β€” age out, but the artists themselves never do...

wipes chooser (unperson), Sunday, 17 May 2026 17:24 (one week ago)
