He calls Silverchair "severely underrated", names their latest the third best album of the year in Artforum!

His books are alot of fun though.

though I will say that if Van Dyke Parks actually did work on this thing there's a very real chance it's better than the Flaming Lips record he's got at number two.

Hahahaha I was so wondering why this was on ILM until I thought of Jt Leroy (and his supposedly awful Silverchair KNOCK off band haha)! BUT it's not about them, it's about SILVERCHAIR themselves!

Not only is Van Dyke Parks' involvement completely bizarre, Silverchair's lyrics are even worse than the Cranberries, if that's possible. They're as underrated as the electric chair.

B-but "The Electric Chair" is an underrated Prince song!

maybe not 'severely' underrated though

hahaha talk about superfluous infOHmation. the book guide is good though (until i realized it was infested with guided by voices references - well i do LIKE the band... oh whatever). there's a cute q&a with jt leroy and dave grOHl in the face. jt apparently has a five year old kid?!? isn't jt like... 16 or something?

think about what dennis cooper likes in bands, and it's OBVIOUS why he loves silverchair.

for the same reason i've become obsessed with the strokes, and that ain't nuttin' to do with the music!

I feel bitter because right after I bought "Frisk" someone told me the ending and now it seems pointless to read it.

i wouldn't knock back an opportunity to spurt my heaving heathen spunk upon his lips.
