My idea at the moment is to look at what tours are coming up in about six months time by artists that would be appropriate and trying to get management details of said acts. Is there a better way to go about it?

Only one I can think of is www.rarepleasures.co.uk
What does he sound like?

His live sets are a quite different, sort of GG Allen meets Public Enemy meets Swap Shop. He mostly leaps around scaring people and giving away prizes (in one unforgettable night at a local haunt he spent half the gig doing an indoor bowling contest amongst the crowd where you could win copies of Top Gun on VHS).

the ways to get support slots on big tours are:
-approach the record company and pay for a buy-on. this is hideously expensive. A certain Irish 3-piece paid in the realm of thousands of pounds to support a certain oregonian dronepop band for three dates or something.
-find the booking agent. people like The Agency are often responsible for providing support bands on tours, but of course, they will usually choose smaller bands that they also work for - double the fees, duh.
-make friends with the band and the band's management. this is the approach that works best, but it's also hardest. the best way to do it is to trade gigs, or trade tours- when coming from out of the country, say, a british band go on tour with an american band in america in exchange for them finding the american band gigs in the uk, and vice versa.
good luck. we're finally up in consideration for a quite exciting support slot thanks to option number three, and please, dear god, please, please, please pray that it finally comes through. sigh. i really feel like we're being led around by the nose at this point, through...

Lynskey-will you post when he is next playing?
― Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 13 December 2002 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)
Cheers for the advice, Katie, much appreciated. I see a weekend of phonecalls and emails ahoy. The boy needs exposure.
