I know this has been up here before. Kind of inspired by

C90: Wow, How Pathetic Was I: the wallowing-in-my-misery-lying-in-bed-til-noon breakup mix tape

below -

I CANNOT hear "Today Was A Good Day" by Ice Cube without getting all misty-eyed about some girl who I now no longer talk to, despite it's resolutely UNromantic subject matter - "Felt on the big fat fanny, Didn't even have to use my AK, etc."

Remember in the movie "Clueless" when Brittany Murphy's character gets all sad over her break-up when she hears the (made-up) gangsta-pop song "Rollin' With the Homies?"

Well, I do, anyway.

Nordicskillz: I had the same reaction with "Alligator Woman" by Cameo over a high-school breakup. She and I had used to sing together: "Your big behind / It makes me blind..."

Matt-isn't Rollin With The Homies by the incorrigible Coolio?

I'll get my coat.

That's probably true...although it's so awful I was hoping it was intentionally so. Remember when she did that little "rollin'" hand motion thing and her little eyes welled up? Awwww.

Now she's all too skinny and stuff.

How 'bout Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" playing from the stereo of the campus shuttle van?

Gerry Rafferty - Right Down the Line. Makes me sad.

"Tennessee" by Arrested Development. Gets me right there.
