I'd just like to say that I think MeshuGgah rule. That is all.

Also, why isn't "DESTROY ERASE IMPROVE," ON AMAZON?

Well, they rule their own little math metal kingdom.

Is their newie as good as everyone says?

It's pretty good but it makes me feel sweaty. I'd probably hit Chaosphere or Destroy Erase Improve first, in that order, but it ain't bad. But if you do go for it, prepare to be bludgeoned VERY SLOWLY.

Destroy, Erase, Improve is the keeper for Meshuggah. Chaosphere is a worthy sequel, and the new one is great, but very different from either of those. Much more Helmet-like. Made my Top Ten for the year.

Got D.E.I. and Chaosphere, though I've not listened to Chaosphere yet.
Gonna get the new 'un I reckon - I like helmet.

I love how about a little past the 1min mark or so into the second track, it sounds like "I LIKE JUICE, AND IT'S THE TRUTH!" is being shouted. Makes me smile every time.

i like the way they rhyme long words (usually ending in "..ion") it makes me laugh. also funny is how they are quite defiantly anti materialist/capitalist - first q on this thread regards acquisition of what in my eyes ropey meshuggah artifact "destroy erase improve" (production SUX!!!!) through multinational corporation. ah well - i'm sure they employ poor folk to work in bedfordshire (and truth be told - i use them a lot although i did NOT ask for the dmx album nor the ja rule album nor the xzibit album they sent me recently). NOTHING is fantastic, though - bewildering time sig stuff w/o falling into easy listening steve reich trap like other "math" stuff

five years pass...

I saw Meshuggah live in 1999 and it was the most amazing opening act I'd ever seen.

I own most of their catalog now. Destroy ERase Improve is the best. I did even like the last ep and full length, even though they were slow developing.

"catch 33" is still one of the greatest things these ears have ever heard.

i anticipate the new one (march, is it?) with glee.

i had a dream recently in which they utilized ska-punk horns on their next album

catch 33, that was it. I really liked that album a lot...but my grandma died shortly after I got it so I stopped listening to it and forgot about it.

wow ska punk horns + meshuggah...that would be nuts...once i had a dream where radiohead was doing funk music with acoustic guitars and keyboards, kind of dave matthews band/mtv unplugged style....

catch 33 is my personal favorite cause its such an hypnotic experience to listen to. its like philip glass metal or something

the new album has a song called "bleed"...im so psyched
