My name is Devin. I'm a university student from Los Angeles, California, and a self-proclaimed music (and film) nerd. My friend Vic is on here and has been encouraging me to sign up over the past few months, so now I've finally done it.
Um, I don't really know what else to say... since this is a music discussion group, I suppose I'll mention that my all-time favorite band is the Beatles. As far as contemporary music goes, I love Los Angeles' very own Rilo Kiley. I listen to all kinds of stuff, however. I've included a list of the last ten CD's I have purchased so you can make your own assessments.
The last ten CD's I purchased were (in chronological order starting with most recent, although #3-8 were made simultaneously in one massive and bank account-breaking purchase):
1) Portishead, "Roseland NYC Live"
2) Yann Tiersen, "Amelie" soundtrack
3) Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, "Oh! The Grandeur"
4) Neko Case, "Blacklisted"
5) Brendan Benson, "Lapalco"
6) Psychedelic Furs, "Greatest Hits"
7) Pavement, "Slanted and Enchanted" reissue
8) Various Artists, "Femmes de Paris, Volume One"
9) Ultimate Fakebook, "Open Up and Say Awesome!"
10) Koufax, "Social Life'
I apologize for my presumptuously long post and for my assumption that anyone gives a shit about what music I've been buying lately. My friend Vic is a member of this and has been encouraging me to join for the last few months. So here I am... I hope to make some sort of contribution. Thanks! :-)

let me be the first to say your taste in music is terrible as I'm sure you'll get that lot
though your taste in music isn't terrible
so this probably doesn't count..
