I'm going with the brief tenure of Clemmy.

Yerz?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 2 January 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Marky? Uh, maybe not.

hstencil, Thursday, 2 January 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha! C'mon I know about this so-called brief tenure, but he was never "Clemmy Ramone". Fine drummer, though.

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 2 January 2003 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, but Sean, I doth beg to differ. Due to the strict uniformity enforced by brother Johnny, anyone who served in the ranks of the Ramones was obligated to adopt both the "y" and formidable surname, even if only briefly. This is also supported by Everett True's new bio on da bruddahs, if you need further verification. According to the book, as capable a drummer as Clem Burke indeed is, he couldn't quite cut Tommy Ramone's (nee Erdelyi) signature style (which concentrates more on wrist movement more than flailing arm movement).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Talking about stuff like this is pretty much my reason for living, sad as that may sound. Thanks, Alex.

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

You and me both.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

what about Arturo Vega, alex?

__, Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Arturo was sort've the fifth Ramone and artistic wing (alongside John Holmstrom, I guess). Fine choice, actually.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Darn it, I was gonna pick Arturo! OK, I'll take Danny Fields then.

Arthur (Arthur), Thursday, 2 January 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Little Ralphy Ramone

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 2 January 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Er, Paul Ramone?

die9o (dhadis), Thursday, 2 January 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

(aka McCartney)

die9o (dhadis), Thursday, 2 January 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

wasn't there one who was actually born Ramone? Vic maybe?

Horace Mann, Thursday, 2 January 2003 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Remember that period of the late 80's when Billy Joel started wearing a leather jacket and shades all the time? Was this mid-life crisis really a heretofore unspoken desire to be Billy Ramone?

Marky! He played for the Voidoids!

two years pass...
...and before that, Dust!

Where is the love for CJ?

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Monday, 21 November 2005 16:36 (nineteen years ago)

Sneezy Ramone

latebloomer: Do I have a large frog in my hair? (latebloomer), Monday, 21 November 2005 16:36 (nineteen years ago)

Elvis Ramone.

(That was Clem Burke's brief Ramonesnom.)

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 21 November 2005 16:39 (nineteen years ago)

Note Marky's (very prescient) 1971 mode of dress:

JD from CDepot, Monday, 21 November 2005 17:03 (nineteen years ago)

Phil.

(Actually, though, I'd say Marky - when he was in Dust.)

xhuxk, Monday, 21 November 2005 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

Elvis Ramone.
(That was Clem Burke's brief Ramonesnom.)

True! There are Johnny / Joey / Dee Dee / Elvis shield logo shirts from the tour.

I'll vote for Richie, since no one has yet.

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Monday, 21 November 2005 18:28 (nineteen years ago)

"Sneezy Ramone"

Hmmmm. OK. Now obviously I know that Dee Dee was Dopey, Johnny was Grumpy and Joey was Bashful; but which ones were Sleepy, Happy, Doc and Sneezy?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 21 November 2005 19:40 (nineteen years ago)

definitely CJ! that whole fan-turned-band-member wish fulfillment thing!

Al (sitcom), Monday, 21 November 2005 23:05 (nineteen years ago)

popeye ramone

latebloomer: Do I have a large frog in my hair? (latebloomer), Monday, 21 November 2005 23:41 (nineteen years ago)

CJ seems like a dick on the Ramones Raw DVD.

Does Riff Randall count?

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

Riff Ramone.

(OK, you 'asked' for it!)
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y161/MarkGrout/donttryit.jpg
Alice Ramone.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

CJ probably only seems like a dick on Ramones Raw because he left the band for a custodial career. He was really, really great live, though.

ng-unit, Tuesday, 22 November 2005 15:12 (nineteen years ago)

Richie wrote "Somebody Put Something in My Drink," and played hella loud.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Marc Bell seemed fairly smart for a Ramone.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 14:21 (nineteen years ago)

I know CJ, and he's far from being a dick...he's quite humble about his tenure as a Ramone, actually

Space Is the Place (Space Is the Place), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 14:42 (nineteen years ago)

Richie was the one that quit over t-shirt sales row.

CJ was the bassist to the end.

At the final UK show at Brixton, Dawn liked his songs better than Joeys. I told her that that was not allowed.
