"Yeah, but Super Ae makes more sense after VCN.
for everyone or just you?"
For me. I had Super Ae before any other Boredoms records, and thought it was okay (ie. I didn't get it). But then I heard VCN and it tore my head off. Afterwards I had a much bigger appreciation for Super Ae. It's a great album, and I sometimes go back and forth between liking that one and VCN more.
I definitely see the point of recommending Super Ae as an introduction over Vision Creation Newsun--it is more varied. I recommended the latter because of my overwhelming reaction to it the first time I heard it--which would of course be different from listener to listener. That said, I've played it for many customers at the record store where I worked and all but one or two have bought it on the spot. It seems to have a pretty strong appeal.

I assume you're talking about "Super Going" -- but why would I want to forget about that?! That guitar tone was incredible, both in 1969 and 1999.
super ae, vcn = snobby indie drone
??? Would you describe the Grand Canyon as snobby & indie?

I really like some of the earlier (~1993) live stuff with two vocalists and Yoshimi doing those really throaty yells. (There's a great video on slsk from this era that features a music video of one of the songs from Super Roots)
