cappadonna
killer priest
u-god
masta killah

brains (cerybut), Friday, 3 January 2003 03:07 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah now tell me that i'm wrong and present a revised list

brains (cerybut), Friday, 3 January 2003 03:07 (twenty-two years ago)

you're wrong.

ol' dirty bastard
rza
meth
ghostface
raekwon
gza
u-god
inspecter
killer priest
masta killah

cappadonna would always come last on this list - EVEN IF MA$E WERE A MEMBER OF THE WU TANG CLAN.

as it stands now, ODB is the real fucking talent in the wu tang clan who hasn't really changed significantly since the beginning (i can't imagine him doing "the rhumba"). "nigga please" = best solo wu tang album EVER.

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 3 January 2003 04:44 (twenty-two years ago)

ODB is the best? erm no. nigga please doesn't show any flow at all, the vocals have been layed over each other in the studio to make it sound better.

Rob, Friday, 3 January 2003 11:12 (twenty-two years ago)

erm yes. a consistent "flow" can be as irritating as a continuous, repetitive "riff." ODB transcends.

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 3 January 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Nigga Please is a great record, but I don't know that it's wise to judge ODB by the same standards as the other Wus.

Amateurist (amateurist), Friday, 3 January 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

rza
odb
gza
ghostface
inspecta
raekwon
meth
ugod (who isnt that bad! i like when he sounds like hes really upset!)

chaki (chaki), Friday, 3 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

RZA? He doesn't even have many verses on the Wu-Tang records.

Amateurist (amateurist), Friday, 3 January 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Gza, (you are all so wrong - liquid swords is the best solo WU outing)

Meth,

ODB (the man is so funny - sneaker theif, crack head police burdon - he is the James Brown of hip hop)

Ghostface Killa,

Raekwon,

RZA - the man is a producer - he def aint no rapper

The rest - take em or leave them - like vultron they really only survive as a group (although on the ghost dog album there is a track that samples Across 110th street with a female singing on it but i cant remember the artist - that is a smooth track)

james (james), Friday, 3 January 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Clearly:

Tony Starks
Ticallian Stallion
Lou Diamonds
Panty Raider
Maxi Million
Rebel INS
Bobby Digital
Cappucino
Noodles

(this is based partly on cool pseudonyms)

_gibby_, Friday, 3 January 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, if this was based on flow and lyricsm alone, Rollie Fingers (pfft!) would be alot higher in any list.

I like the way Ghostface is a really fat bastard but he has this raw and vital pitched scream. Methical sounds fat which is strange cuz he's seen as a bit of a sex symbol.

_gibby_, Friday, 3 January 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

if its based on pseudonymns then Big Baby Jesus should win

Rob, Friday, 3 January 2003 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Is-e is-e is-e dead?

_gibby_, Friday, 3 January 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Best real Christian names:

Clifford
Lamont
Elgin
Corey
Jason
Dennis
Robert
Gary
Russell
Darryl

_gibby_, Friday, 3 January 2003 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil, Friday, 3 January 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that stash!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

You are all forgetting that RZA raps ALOT on gravediggaz first album.

chaki (chaki), Friday, 3 January 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

and the first Bobby Digital is pretty fucking impressive. RZA ain't the greatest lyricist and it sounds like he's positively coating the mic in drool but he's no slouch.

I'd rate 'em:

Ghostface
ODB
Genius/GZA
Method Man
Raekwon
RZA
and everyone else in no particular order

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 3 January 2003 21:30 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
I saw GZA recently and searched "liquid swords" to find this.

1. GZA ("Liquid Swords" is possibly the best hip-hop album)
2. Ghostface
3. ODB
4. Method Man
5. INS
6. Raekwon
7. RZA
8. Masta Killa
9. U-God
10. Cappadonna (his "Triumph" verse is so awful)

Adam Harrison-Friday, Wednesday, 1 June 2005 03:41 (nineteen years ago)

my revised list:

ol' dirty bastard

inspectah

u-god

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 03:47 (nineteen years ago)

me list:

gza
ghostface
ODB
inspectah (the most underrated of all of them)
raekwon
rza (weak in skills, but i like his voice)
meth
u-god
cappadonna
masta killah
killah priest

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 03:54 (nineteen years ago)

the only reason killah priest comes in above the bottom in my list is because of the jon spencer remix track. that shit is sick. i loves me some apocalyptic hokum.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 04:03 (nineteen years ago)

actually, i would probably have ghostface and ODB tied for 2d -- they were the most consistent of the wu-tangers, esp. wr2 their solo careers. (i don't think that "consistent" is always an adjective that one would associate w/ ODB, but i think that aside from ghostface his solo rekkids were the most consistently high quality of any of the MCs.)

liquid swords aside, gza solo hasn't been that great. but he's #1 b/c of the sheer strength of liquid swords AND his contributions to wu-tang rekkids.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 04:11 (nineteen years ago)

WRONG WRONG SO WRONG
RAEKWON TOPS THE SHIT

gza

brock (brock), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 04:45 (nineteen years ago)

Why is everyone rating Killah Priest? He's not even a member of the clan.

deej., Wednesday, 1 June 2005 05:00 (nineteen years ago)
