dont expect such a clean studiomix as the sidewinder promo.
it buzzes with feedback, cellphone distortion, re-occuring horses and a lost sheep, too many mcs, mysterious black holes (sometimes after the track being reversed at warpspeed) and eventually the needle drops into something thats *not* a groove.

i dont really understand why dj q hasnt been asked to do a fabriclive mix (though i do have my theories, i suppose it will take him about ten years, like with EZ, never mind that hes one of the best djs in the country), but the flava d fabriclive mix is so, so, good. at first i thought it was a bit underwhelming, a bit too seamless, almost TOO easy, as it doesnt really 'go anywhere', and sits pretty comfortably in a certain lane (though obv it covers a lot of ground within that lane, and theres a lot of interesting recombinant nu vs classicist garage stuff happening) but after a while, i reckon this kind of mix, where a dj is just doing what comes easy to them, is better than one thats more ambitious, and tries a bit harder.
has made my friday feel a lot better.

robust midfielders in Greggs were all the rage in 2014, proper sunny outside though

Flava D Fabriclive is so good, at first I was worried it was going to be too samey given it's 95% her own productions but she's so good at varying her game between slinky and grimey, and the last 20mins or so (from Dollar Sign onwards) is a complete blast.
Obviously it's a national scandal that Q hasn't been given one yet but given that Flava D and EZ and Butterz and My Nu Leng have all been given one recently it's probably not that far off. Yeah I know there's a two hour mix every week that I can't keep up with but it's the principle of the thing, status and implied permanence and all that. (I'm not really much of a fan of Enters The Unknown though, it doesn't quite capture the rushiness I get from his best radio mixes).

I only made it about 15mins in but it it was mostly uninspiring lumbering UK bass, I only included them because they're generally associated with Q and he wheels them out regularly.

the flava d one makes me regret not keeping up to date with bassline

Wait is it the post about pulling your finger out and doing your homework or the one about how certain posters should stop posting forever? Could go either way.
