Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

tracklisting please

gareth (gareth), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't but KatieG did and, yeah, it's pretty crap really. But then Futurism 1 wasn't all that either.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

futurism 1 was shit

gareth (gareth), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

we mentioned this before and concluded that one was probably enough. you succumbed then?

i liked futurism 1.

michael wells (michael w.), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing with Missy Queen's Gonna Die on it can be entirely shit.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 3 January 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

No my brother got me a subscription to Jockey Slut and it was the free CD. Futurism 1 was good I thought too, I could name lots of good tracks it introduced me to. I really loved the Louie Austen featuring Peaches one "Grab My Shaft", it was great, not really electroclash.

CD1 starts off "scaredy cat scaredy cat dont you want my bush", Ronan turns off CD1 and says this is stupid.

CD2 starts off with Champu by Daniel Diamond which I really do love, then it goes into a few good but not great tracks, Colorsound's Fly With Me, then it becomes that snacksize cheap sounding techno in the style of Hand To Phone by Adult but NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD. The Adult remix of Silver Screen Shower Scene is decent enough but I'm kind of sick of that screaming off kilter vocal thing she does, I mean it just all feels embarassing at this stage.

Also a message to dance artists of the world, STOP USING THE "FREAK-A-PELLA" IT'S NOT EVEN INTERESTING!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

what's the 'perspex sex' remix like?

michael wells (michael w.), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

That DFA mix of Deceptacon is amazing. (I haven't heard anything else here)

Adam A. (Keiko), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I bought it, but have to admit I only listened to it once.

Aaron W, Friday, 3 January 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

WTF is this 'Arthur Argent' thing? Hold Your Head Up was an Argent single in the early 70's - has it been bootlegged together with s/else?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

That Arthur Argent track is fantastic actually, it's a bit like a quieter more subdued Vitalic, the kind of thing Jacques Lu Cont plays out. It's not booted as far as I can tell but a really anthemic groovy end of night house track. Perspex Sex remix is ok, again a bit tinny really.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 3 January 2003 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

have to hand it to damien lazarus for having a hand in so many rubbish things and people still not knowing who he is enough to have a rep he deserves. he'll be back for the next trend

He must have been talking about the guy's voice!?!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 10 October 2005 06:57 (twenty years ago)

"I need to change your name... to MINE" is such an awesome line.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 10 October 2005 06:57 (twenty years ago)

It's still probably the answer I would immediately give if someone asked me what my favourite electro-house track was.

This thread is also funny for rob them co saying:

"have to hand it to damien lazarus for having a hand in so many rubbish things and people still not knowing who he is enough to have a rep he deserves. he'll be back for the next trend "

I stumbled across it while searching for the Damian Lazarus Suck My Deck thread Jacob started to say how much I'm enjoying the mix!

You might like Lazarus Spencer. He's got this quite distinct pop X minimalism approach in his track selection - sort of like the mid-point between the Freeform Five and Dominik Eulberg mixes. Lotsa vocals.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:16 (twenty years ago)

haha I do like that Freeform Five remix now, alot. I still think I was probably right about Futurism 2. I never like Damien Lazarus, except parts of Suck My Deck. But even the live mixes I've heard, there's just something about it I can't get into.

I think I actually worship Mayer and Smagghe as the two opposing poles of electrohouse goodness or something. Though there are similarities there.

My favourite electrohouse tune? A difficult question, maybe too hard to answer, my gut reaction says the LRD remix of Felix.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:19 (twenty years ago)

PROGGIST

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:23 (twenty years ago)

I am a proggist, absolutely.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

I would like to dig this out and hear that Subway tune again, I like them now.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:27 (twenty years ago)

I'm dling this comp from Slsk, cos I love that Freeform Five remix and want to find a good comp to buy with it on, cos the 12" is too expensive.

I was extremely disappointed with the Freeform Five album though, I didn't like a single thing on it.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Monday, 10 October 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
Does anyone know what the hidden track at the end of disc 2 on this is?
