In particular the similarly outrageous third-choruses from each song.

GO!

I once had a dream that I was the producer in a Ween/ODB joint recording session. It took place in a church, too, and ODB was dressed like a preacher man. I had to kneel on a kneeler in front of the mixing board.

Oh man, this is a hard one. I'm going to have to say Ween just because Push th' Little Daisies explains everything wrong with eighties synth rock without having to be blatant about it (something that even Frank Zappa could never really do, for some reason). Plus how can you go wrong with a line like "PUSH THE LITTLE DAISIES UNTIL THEY COME UP"?

Wow, that's a really tough choice. In the end, I would have to sadly leave "I Can't Wait" behind and go with "Daisies," although "I Can't Wait" wins in the outrageousness contest.

That's a hard contest fought though, innit?

"push th' little daisies" gets a very slight edge only because of the "funky drummer" remix on the cd single.

fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 3 December 2003 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ODB, obv. Ween are poseurs.

I ain't no actor my shit's for real

Ween? Poseurs? Interesting analysis...

Seriously though, "Push th' Little Daisies" = Yin, "I Can't Wait" = Yang.

at my favorite pdx strip club, both these songs get played a lot, so this is funny to me.

i think that is the best thing ween ever did, aside from all the under the counter "drugs" (dudes were seriously into scotch guard acc. to kramer) they did as young ones, which made them what they are today.

"I Can't Wait" may be one of the worst Neptunes beats, ever (sorry, I don't dig the whole newsreel sound of it), yet it also may be ODB's all-time craziest song. I love Ween, but they've got a bunch of songs I like more, and despite my dislike of the beat I still love "I Can't Wait" due to said insanity, particularly the shout-outs (how could one not like them?). ODB wins.

ODB, and i really dig the weener number - dude just takes it at "army, navy, submarines"

!!! this would be the greatest strip club ever!

anyway, i vote for "push th' little daisy" -- "i can't wait" is kinda low on the list of ODB's great songs.
